I'm a week in! Weekly Wrap-up of a new blogger!

I thought I would take a second and reflect on my first week as an official blogger and ask of a few questions of anyone stopping by.  Starting my own blog has been something I wanted to do for a very long time, but just never dove in.  I'm sure glad that the courage, motivation, and time all came together this past week, because being a blogger has already been such a rewarding experience.

Whenever you start something new, I think it is so important to reflect during your journey; celebrating small successes, seeing room for improvement, and just looking back for a moment.

So here's what I've learned in my introduction to the blogging world...

It's all about community...
These days, as busy as we all are, it is sometimes very difficult to foster a sense of community with those around you.  I have come across the ultimate community for a new mom - a wealth of information, humor, creativity, heartfelt honesty, and help!  For as much time as you can find to spend at your computer, there is something to be learned from another blogging mom.

Bloggers are incredibly supportive of each other...
A week ago, when I started typing, I imagined my words just flying into cyber-space, maybe (just MAYBE) getting read by someone.  I now realize that with the right networking, there is an incredible amount of interaction between bloggers, which helps make the community that much more personal.

Twitter!
I never knew much about Twitter, but since I was already out of my comfort zone writing a blog, I thought that I might as well go all out, and start Tweeting!  I think right now I am just tweeting to myself (and typing that makes me smile), but that's ok!  I have found many others to follow, and you have to start somewhere.

Successful bloggers are very willing to help those of us who are new!
Continuing with how supportive an environment I think this is, there are two bloggers that have been incredibly helpful in getting started.  Their sites are a wealth of information for everyone.

Mommy Moment was the biggest help in blog design.  The amazingly creative writers provide tutorials that help you make your blog so much better!

Theta Mom is an amazing blogger that is truly helping revolutionize the blogging community.  You may have noticed her button on my blog (another thing I mastered - BUTTONS!!), and if you haven't checked out her blog, I would highly encourage it.  She is so helpful with blogging content, and how to build a readership.

So now it's your turn....
What motivated you to start a blog?  Where do you find your inspiration?  How has the blogging community been helpful to you?  What do you wish you had known from the beginning?

Hopefully some of you will be generous enough to share your thoughts and comments.  There is so much left to learn!
